Eli-Mathieu Bustos

Eli Mathieu-Bustos is a dancer and performer who, through his bodily virtuosity, transcends his different political identities. It is from these identities that his dances are born.

In 2020, he created an inclusive improvisation dance technique that does not prioritise any style, rhythm, quality of movement, reference, or body type. Only the accuracy of the emotion that the latter transmits to the public counts. This technique is called 'De Caelo'.

Eli Mathieu-Bustos studied choreographics at the Manufacture d'Aurillac and has a Master's degree at the Institut des Arts et de la Chorégraphie (ISAC) of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. For two years, he has been working to combine his practice of astrology and dance to create a new improvisation technique. This technique, which he calls De Caelo, is at the heart of his first solo Have A Safe Travel.

Eli Mathieu-Bustos has performed solo in many places in Brussels. He has also collaborated with other artists and institutions such as Marco Torrice, Africa is/in the future, Marcos Arriola, Patric Chiha, the Antwerp Opera, Milø Slayers, Mooni Van Tichel and recently Louise Vanneste.
