BIRAME

For Birame, music bridges his queer identity and multicultural roots. He explores themes of identity and religion through a blend of introspection and storytelling. His sound, electroacoustic textures within and beyond the boundaries of pop and R&B , draws inspiration from artists like Solange , Sampha , Björk , James Blake , and FKA twigs .

His love for music began at a young age with his after-school jazz piano training. Later, Birame performed solo with electronic beats at small events, but his longing for the energy and dynamism of a live band quickly grew. At the KASK & Conservatory in Ghent, where he recently began studying music production , he found four talented musicians who complemented his musical vision. With this new formation, he performed for the first time at the Zebrastraat Showcase#Music (Ghent) and won the competition, earning them the opportunity to close Zebrawoods 2024-2025. Birame was soon after selected as one of the nine finalists for De Nieuwe Lichting 2025.

Birame is currently on stage as a singer and performer in the cast of 'PEEKABOO', a theatre play by Maxime Dreesen that will tour the Netherlands and Belgium in 2025.
